We talked about it back in February and now it’s on the verge of happening. That’s right. Android 4.1 aka Jelly Bean is being primed to roll out for the Nexus S since being released on June 28, 2012. Actually, back in February we thought Jelly Bean would be a major update to version 5.0, but hey, not all predictions come true.

Jelly Bean is a minor update when compared to Ice Cream Sandwich‘s life changing interface (it really did change my life), but dammit, we love updates. Moreover, we love updates that introduce new features, bug fixes, and deliver a more efficient (and slick) operating system. Ice Cream Sandwich didn’t disappoint and Jelly Bean looks like it’ll be chock full of improvements. So what’s Jelly Bean promising?

Android 4.1 New Features

– Improved voice search (to compete with Siri)
– quicker transitions (for a snappier user experience)
– improved keyboard and dictionary
– Android Beam (for sharing photos)
– Google Now (an intuitive personal assistant)
